How Long Will My Visits Last?
Your first appointment will be your longest visit ranging from 60 to 90 minutes. All of the following visits will last approximately one hour and each session can vary depending on the treatments administered.
What Should I Wear for My Physical Therapy Visits?
Please wear appropriate clothing such as a t-shirt, shorts or exercise pants, and tennis shoes so that the injured body part can be exposed if necessary.
What Should I Expect During Physical Therapy?
After your medical review and physical evaluation, your therapist may evaluate your strength, range of motion / flexibility, endurance, balance, coordination, posture, walking, stair negotiation, and body mechanics. Your therapist will then review the results with you and suggest a treatment plan. You may be given a home exercise program that will come with pictures and instructions.
Will You Communicate With My Physician Regarding My Physical Therapy?
Yes, a progress note will be faxed to the physician before a follow-up appointment or after any significant change of status.
Do I Need to Have a Referral From a Doctor?
As per Alabama Physical Therapy Board, you must have a prescription from a qualified medical professional such as a licensed physician, physician assistant, chiropractor, or nurse practitioner.
What Insurances Do You Accept?
We accept all major insurances. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact us.
Do You Have a Cancellation Policy?
If you cannot make your appointment, we respectfully ask that you notify our office twenty-four (24) hours in advance. If you are running late for your appointment, please call ahead and notify our office, you may need to reschedule for a different time or day.
Do I Need to Fill Out Any Paperwork Before Coming to My First Appointment?
You can download the paperwork from the Forms button to save some time on your first visit. If you prefer to fill out the paperwork in the office, please arrive 20 minutes prior to your appointment time. Please bring your drivers license and medical insurance card to your first visit.
